You may have noticed that we have a couple new additions to the menu bar.  Directions to the venue, as well as a link to our webstore.  We’ll be adding more merchandise to the webstore, so check back.  We are doing limited runs of all the merch- so if you want to make sure you don’t miss out- buy sooner rather than later.

As well as the current items we have for sale- socks and caps, you can expect a bunch more goodies- all done in very limited runs.

At this point in time we don’t plan on shipping merchandise.  It will all be available to pick up at the registration table starting October 22nd.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

StarCrossed Single Speed Race Winner Automatic Qualifier for SSCXWC

Seattle, WA -  August 6, 2010 — Low Pressure Promotions, LLC and Washington Unified Single Speeders, LLC (WUSS) are excited to announce that the winner of the Raleigh Bicycles Single Speed race at StarCrossed p/b Stanley – A brand of PMI will automatically qualify for the final at the Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships (SSCXWC). Seattle will be hosting SSCXWC on October 23rd and 24th with qualifying for the championship held on Saturday, October 24th.

Zac Daab, co-promoter of StarCrossed, boasted, “We now host the second most important single speed cyclocross race in the world.  Avoiding the riggers of the qualifying process for the final at SSCXWC could be quite an advantage for the winner of StarCrossed (Single Speed).”

A limited number of riders will be given the privilege to race in the championship race on Sunday, October 24th. Currently over 225 riders are pre-register for the weekend’s festivities so the qualifier is mandatory in order to secure a spot in the race on Sunday, October 24th.  SSCXWC will be offering “repechage” opportunities during the many events planned on Saturday.  Winning the MFG Cyclocross SS race earlier on Sunday will be the final qualifier.  The winner of StarCrossed Raleigh Bicycles Single Speed race will avoid the stress and possible humiliation of the qualify process set forward by WUSS. The winner will also be the new owner of a Raleigh single speed frame.

Who has their shit together?

It’s almost been a week since the flood gates opened- and we are over halfway through the field limit of 300 male racers. If you are sitting there at your computer, wondering if you want to be a part of the magic that is SSCXWC, you may just find yourself on the business end of a cowbell during the race, wishing you made the commitment early. Life is about commitments- making decisions and sticking to your guns. Let the SSCXWC be your decision and let your bike be your gun. Commit like you want to want to wake up next to SSCXWC every day, for the rest of your life. Then get on that bike and ride. Ride like you’ve got to make it home to watch Wheel of Fortune… like you are running late for a date with Destiny… like you can’t think of another simile… because SSCXWC could very likely be the best weekend of your whole year.

Oh yeah, the Top 50. Because of the magic of the internets, we know who has been watching the gate, waiting for GO time on registration. We have had riders register from NY, HI, CA, ID, UT, AZ, TN, NJ, MT and all across Canada, but the folks from Washington have had the strongest showing by far. As we said, these early birds will be getting some special thanks from our sponsors and will be receiving a commemorative Stanley insulated mug, as well as a shirt that will only be available to the first 50 racers. Here they are, in all their crossed “t” and dotted “i” glory:

There is still room to register, so get over to the BIKEREG site and make it happen. We have far more men than women registered, so ladies… show ‘em what for, and get registered!

It’s June the first and you know what that means…  Registration is open for Single Speed CycloCross World Championships!  As we said before, the first 50 registered will be receiving some goodies from Stanley, as well as a limited shirt, so everyone will know that you have your shit together.  We’ll let you know this week who the lucky 50 are.

Of course you should still register now…

Keep you ear to the ground, follow the Twitter and don’t look directly into the sun…  Cross season is around the corner- and it’s going to be a doozie.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SINGLE SPEED CYCLOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DATES ANNOUNCED
SINGLE SPEED CYCLOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD OCTOBER 24, 2010 at Pacific Raceways outside of SEATTLE, WA

Seattle, WA (April 30, 2010) – Spring is in the air, which means we’re only 1 more season in the way of the best season…Cross Season. With this in mind the Washington United Single Speeders, LLC and Low Pressure Promotions, LLC are ready to announce the 2010 dates for the first non-PDX version of the Single Speed Cyclocross World Championship in Seattle, WA. The main event will take place Sunday October 24, 2010 at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA.

Returning this year is the qualifier event starting Saturday morning, October 23, 2010. This means we will be limiting the number of participants in the World Championships main event. So the qualifier is mandatory in order to secure a spot in the race on Sunday October 24th. We will be offering “repechage” opportunities during the many events planned on Saturday. Winning the MFG SS race earlier on Sunday will be the final qualifier. Times and locations for the qualifier events will be announced as the event approaches.

Online registration opens June 1, 2010 and will be posted on both the MFG Cyclocross (www.mfgcyclocross.com) and SSCXWC sites (http://sscxwc.org). The first 50 pre-registered racers will receive a limited edition SSCXWC t-shirt, SSCXWC/Stanley mug, and a custom handmade number from Seattle bag maker Dank Bags. While not everyone will get to race in the World Championships, everyone who registers will be allowed to race in the MFG Series SS race. This guarantees everyone the opportunity to get their race on.

For ongoing updates and complete details about the race and all the events taking place throughout the weekend of October 23 and 24, go to http://sscxwc.org.
