Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

On February 27, 2011, in news, by rschuetze

Somebody is a winner. Our little contest has come to a close, and there could be only one person to get the group. The choice was made using complicated algorithms, charts, graphs and a more than ample amount of alcohol.

Who is it? Watch and find out….

Cross Holiday Miracle!

On December 16, 2010, in news, by rschuetze

The SSCXWC Frames have landed* and we want to reward all the good boys and girls who have been so patient while waiting for these.

Everyone who orders a frameset will receive a commerative SSCXWC Tshirt and a pair of SSCXWC socks to don while riding their sweet new rig. In addition you will receive a SSCXWC Stanley flask to keep that warm feeling inside going well after the ride is over.

But wait, there’s more!

On top of that, we?re giving away the Shimano Groupo and Gates Carbon Drive that was on display at Interbike!

  • Dura Ace Carbon Tubless Wheelset
  • Dura Ace 7800 SS brake levers (custom made by Sally)
  • Dura Ace Crankset
  • Pro Handlebar, Stem & Seatpost
  • Entire Gates Carbon Belt drive Drivetrain
  • Hutchinson Cross Tires

You might be asking yourself? “how do I get my muddy mitts on the groupo?”

This year we weren’t able to do something as intricate as painting one of the frames a different color and sending it out.

(shoot…we’re lucky we got the frames at all this year)  What we are going to do is enter everyone who purchases a frame by January 12th. into a lottery of sorts.  One lucky person (out of a total possible 40) will ride off with the kit listed above.  What kind of lottery you might be asking as well?  That’s to be determined…but in the spirit of SSCXWC we’ll make sure it’s fair, involves booze, and some form of nudity.  Winner will be notified as soon we figure it out-  the frames will start shipping on Wednesday December 22nd.

Thanks everyone.  Now get em dirty.

*Actual Frameset purchase will be sold as Raleigh SSCXWC frame, Enve Cross Fork, FSA Headset

*Frame and fork under manufacturers frame warranty for 1 year from date of purchase.  Please see Raleigh, Enve and FSA for their warranty information.  As these are limited edition frames, any warranted items will be replaced with a similar/suitable product.

*People who preordered frames will be contacted for Tshirt and sock size.

*It needs to be noted to everyone that we currently have 30 of the framesets on hand.  These will begin to ship out on Monday December 20th in order of purchase.  The remaining 10 framesets are done and are in transit, they are currently scheduled to arrive in the middle to end of January.  They will ship as soon they land.

SSCXWC Withdrawls?

On November 3, 2010, in Uncategorized, by rschuetze

Are you regretting that you didn’t get a pint glass at the SSCXWC?  You should, because there are no more of them.  We didn’t make a whole lot of any one thing, so make sure you have what you need now.  Whether or not you were in Seattle, you can take home a little bit of the largest SSCXWC to date.   If you’ve seen the pictures and videos circulating, you know it was a good time.

Get your goodies like Stanley drinkware, T-shirts (printed in Seattle,) Pace caps, and socks made by Sock Guy make perfect gifts for yourself or a loved one.

To sweeten the deal, and so we don’t have to keep shipping things… order 3 items and get a T-shirt for a penny.  Select your size from the drop down menu (we pick the color.)  We’ll even pay the shipping on it!

Head over today to buy some goodies.  They won’t be around forever.

And while they haven’t shipped yet (they will soon, we promise…) there are only a few more of the new carbon single speed Raleigh bikes available in celebration of the 2010 SSCXWC.  Get your grubby little paws on one of them before they are all gone.

Oh My God…They’re Gorgeous!

On November 3, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Sally

All of you are…in fact…y’all should consider a modeling career.

We’ve added a photo gallery from the race.  And after you get done looking at the select pretty pictures the crew at Motofish took…click on the link on the bottom and view the over 800 pictures they took at the race.  Odds are…if you don’t see yourself in those pictures…you weren’t here.

Or something like that…

We’ve had a couple emails…and not all of them nice ones…requesting results from SSCXWC.

Here’s the deal…we unleashed 230 kittens on the course that were all hopped up on Kat-Nip and then….it started raining.  Thus sending the cats into a frenzy of mayhem in the mud…

  • some people had numbers…
  • some people sharpied their number to their skin…
  • some people attached their number to their capes…
  • some people poached the entire thing with no number…
  • some people got lapped…
  • some people did 1 lap…
  • ALOT of the people crossed the finish line with their number looking like this…(and she WON!)

Now…try being the people keeping track of this….honestly.

Alot of what makes SSCXWC the amazing event that it is, is the spirit of the event and the understanding that alot of it is having fun.  While we understand that many of you want to figure out how you match up with some of the best SSCX racers…IN THE WORLD.  It should also be taken into consideration that you are racing with some of the biggest jack ass SSCX racers….IN THE WORLD.

We are trying to put together something that will (hopefully) give you all an idea as to where you sit within these two distinct groups.  At the same time…if you have an idea as to where you finished…you’re probably right.

Now go brag to your friends.

Some other people took pictures…

Like my buddy Dave…and these on SmugMug

And I think a couple out of towners had a good time…

Like the Gates Belt Drive Crew from Colorado…and some MashSF guys…

I’m sure there might be one or two more things out there…if you find em…leave a link in the comments…

“People talk about my drinkin…”

“…but never my thirst.”

Schooner Exact Brewery and the Big Time Brewery teamed up with us to brew beers specifically for the SSCXWC.  While you’re in Seattle, ask for their beers by name.  And maybe…just maybe…they’ll have the Schooner Exact “Skidmark” or the Big Time “Embrocation” on tap for you to sample.

If they don’t have either of those…PBR can be found EVERYWHERE in this town.
